Hey there everyone! Super backlogged at the moment, so I’ll keep this one relatively quick. You might be asking yourself what I’ve been up to. If so, here you go!
The big lift for me in the past seven days has been my review process for the recently announced Pixel 9. Having attended the Made By Google event a few weeks back, I was loaned a device by Google and gave it nearly two weeks of usage to embody my full review, with a video preview the week before.
I published my full review on the Android Faithful website, and the video preview which touches on many of the points from the review is below as well. Overall, I’m very happy with the device. From a tangible “look and feel” perspective, this is a wonderful device to hold. However, every time I pick it up I’m reminded how I’m living on borrowed time as I haven’t dropped it yet. I MUST get a case on this bad boy before the inevitable happens. (inevitable for ME, anyway.)
From an AI standpoint, it’s obvious how badly Google wants its AI hooks to grab users of this family of devices. Many people outside of the tech sphere that I talk to have a passing interest in artificial intelligence, so it remains to be seen if hinging a product almost entirely on AI is a good move or not. I tend to like most of the special features I’ve used to date, but I still can’t decide if they are set to be universally liked the way I do. My hunch is that the answer is no, but I could be surprised!
Oh, also: If you read this piece on CNN, you may have spotted a picture from the MBG event with Adam Doud and me!
