I know I posted some Techsploder tea earlier today… But with all the craziness in getting ready for Techsploder, I had to postpone my usual weekly check-in on the many shows, podcasts, and videos I kept busy with for the week. So, to that end, here is an abbreviated roundup of last week’s activity!
Android Faithful #40: Android 15 Beta Roundup
Mishaal Rahman brings the HEAT with Android 15 Beta 1 details, this dude knows his stuff (if that isn’t obvious at this point!) Also, we discuss Google’s likely shift in Pixel strategy with the 9 series, an opening up of Google’s photo editing AI features, and Samsung’s return to the top of the heap while ousting Apple in global market share for the quarter!
AI Inside #13: AI Tools For Creators
Jeff Jarvis was out for this episode, so I had the chance to invite two founders to the show, both of AI services that have crossed my path as an independent creator in recent months.
Jeremy Toeman founded AugX and the Augie AI-assisted video editing system which we demonstrate in real time on the show. The video editor in me wishes I had this throughout my time editing cause it simplifies so much about the process, and the generative AI qualities is a total boon in a pinch. Jeremy offered listeners 10% off the service when you use the code “yellowgold”! A cool surprise to me and everyone listening!
Surafel Defar founded Revoldiv, an AI-powered cloud transcription and audio editor that does some amazing things for ZERO DOLLARS. I mean, if you are an enterprise you might have to pay, but people like you and I can use it for audio up to two hours with no limit to the amount of times we use it. I mean, come on! I love talking to people about how they come up with these ideas and the road to delivering on the vision and that is what I talked about with Jeremy and Surafel in detail.
Clockwise #550: Strap In and Forget My Email
My good friend Mikah Sargent invited me back to the Clockwise podcast last week which is just one of my favorite shows to guest on. For those who aren’t familiar, the concept is easy. Each person brings one tech-related question for the panel to answer one by one. The show is kept to 30 minutes in total, so it keeps things succinct and fun. This time, I joined Mikah, Dan Moren, and Christina Warren. We discussed things like web nostalgia, most disappointing product we’ve ever reviewed, how we roll when troubleshooting tech in our lives, and my contribution: sharing the oldest piece of technology we still actually use. Always a good time!
Techsploder Welcome Video
I won’t go into deep detail on how the idea came to me, cause I already did that. But I will say that I sent out 48 invites for my friends in tech to send me a video saying “tech… techsploder!” I sent out that many because I expected many to say no or not respond because EVERYONE is busy and I totally get it! To my amazement, I got videos from 33 people for the intro! It felt INCREDIBLY indulgent, but I gave myself a pass. This video announced the reason for the channel redesign and the focus for the channel going forward. Followed the next day by…
Techsploder Podcast episode 0
Again, I won’t go into more detail. I think you all get it at this point! hehehe But I should say this: Episode 1 of the Techsploder podcast drops on Friday, May 5! Make sure you are subscribed to see who joins me for the first episode! (You *might* be able to guess who, but I won’t confirm or deny it!)
OK, that’s it yall. Who’s got two thumbs and is ready for bed? THIS GUY right here.
